I'm just going to ramble about some of my thoughts and i'll also put up some music videos.
I don't know what all God has for my life or everything He wants me to do. But I do know that I'm not just supposed to live my life for me but for Him. He wants us all to serve Him. He is the one who paid for not just my sins but everyone's. He showed such great love when he hung on the cross and let us go free. I don't just want to act like a follower of Christ, I want to be one; I don't just want to look happy, I want to be truly happy; I don't want to screw up the rest of my life, I want to know what to do. Here is a song that I like; it is called Blink by Revive.
Even though we may have wasted part of our life it isn't too late to change. God loves us and wants the best for us, but He can't use us if we don't seek Him. I need to get serious about seeking and following Him. Here is another song, it is called Who You Are by Unspoken.
Anyway, thanks for listening to those songs. I have a favor to ask of you all; would you guys mind praying for me or giving me any bits of advice that you have found helpful in your walk with the Lord. I know I need to follow Him. Thanks for all of your friendship! I hope all of you have a wonderful week!
Love, Rachel ♥
You doing okay Rae?
ReplyDeleteYeah, i'm pretty good. I want to find out what God wants me to do, I just don't want to be afraid to do it. I want to be able to hear His voice and I don't want to doubt things. Is any of this sounding crazy or can you relate at all? Hope you have a great day!!! -Rae
ReplyDeleteRachel, I haven't been ignoring this post...I've been wondering a lot of the same stuff myself so I was watching to see what suggestions and thought others have!
ReplyDeleteA year or so ago, I took an online class from BJU on adolescent psychology. I loved that class for a lot of reasons, and I learned a lot. One of the thing I learned I'm going to say here, cause it helped me and you might find it encouraging. God designed us the way we are, and he designed our minds the way we are. Adolescents (hint: you fall into that category...I'm on my way out :P) are going through a time in their lives when there is a lot of change happening. The way we process information, relate to other people, and view the world changes and grows and maures. And we ask questions. Lots of questions. It is perfectly natural (natural: God-designed) for us to have times of questions and even doubting toward worldviews, beliefs, etc. When I thought of it that way, I felt a lot better. I realized that God designed me even to doubt his existence. And it's okay (...as long as I don't just stop there). (And that may be completely different than what you're working with right now, but I thought I'd share it anyhow.)
Anyhow, I'll be very interested to see if your other blog readers have suggestions and encouragements for devotions/walking with Christ. Thanks for posting this and being so open, Rachel!
Thanks so much for your comment Erika! I know i'm not the only one who has some of the feelings that I'm having. Hopefully i'll be able to work through what i'm going through. :) Thank you everyone who has been concerned about me! ♥ Rachel
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for you, Rachel. I hope you get everything sorted out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia!!! :)
ReplyDeleteRachel, I think it's really wonderful that you want to follow God with your whole heart! I know exactly how you feel, and I most certainly will pray for you!
ReplyDeleteI have recently read a couple of books by Leslie Ludy that I highly recommend. I am reading Authentic Beauty now, and I recently read Set-Apart Femininity. They're about following God wholeheartedly, and finding what He wants in our lives, and being the women that He has called us to be. And we can serve Him and be radical about Him, even while we're living at home, whether it's with our parents, or if we're stay-at-home moms, or whatever.
I'm thinking about doing a more detailed book review on the Lively Grapevine.
If you're interested in borrowing the books or anything, just let me know! I would be happy to share whatever I have with you!
Love you lots! <3
Thank you so much Elizabeth! You are a sweet friend!! Actually, Mom, Kim, and I are going through Leslie Ludy's Lost Art of True Beauty right now! However, I have not read the two that you mentioned, so maybe I will borrow them sometime!!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!!!! Love, Rachel :)
ReplyDeleteOh, okay, that's awesome! I have that book too, but I haven't read it yet :)
